First stop: Hawaii

The day is here! The first stop of our first Asia Tour starts from San Diego Airport to Hawaii for a wedding. I can't wait to get out of here! I will update more when I get a chance to upload Hawaii pictures. Today, December 18, 2011 is actually my last day in Hawaii. I am exhausted with all the previous activities and last couple activities planned for today. I have to say I love Hawaii and I'm getting to miss it already, even though I am still here. It is a great place to get away from the cold from the mainland.

It is only 7 AM here in Hawaii. I think I should head out for some local food and drinks.
I promise to post up pictures as soon as I have time. :D

I'm Free!

I finally finished with my last final for this semester. It has been a busy semester for me.  But now it is time for me to Pack, Pack and PACK! I'm so excited for our first Asia Trip. This will be the first time my boyfriend and I are going out of the country together. I'm still waiting for the Milani Cosmetics orders to arrive so I can do a Black Friday and Cyber Monday haul on my blog. They take forever to ship it out! I hope it arrives before I head out on December 15.

As for my trip, I just booked the  hotels and finish with everything that were needed for this trip. I just need to wash my clothes, pack and get on the airplane. :D YAY*

I will also be doing a "what to bring with you when travel" blog soon. If you want to see what I pack for my trip, please stay tuned and as always, Until Then! :)

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

Picture belongs to Urban Decay website

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette officially launched today! I'm so excited to see a new palette from Urban Decay, especially a new Naked palette. I love the first Naked palette because it's so easy to use and easy to carry when I travel.

As you can see the Naked 2 palette has slightly more glitter colors than the first one. It also in the cooler side of brown. I just love how taupe it is! The packaging is A-AWESOME!! Instead of a carbon box, they are now improved it with a tint box? or is it a plastic box?  I'm not quite sure because of course I did not have an honor to receive the palette, because I'm not one of the famous bloggers or Youtube beauty gurus (so jelly!). That's why I have to use the image on their website. Once I get my hand on this baby, I will sure to have a full detail review.

Urban Decay launched their pre-sale for this palette today for $50 USD! You can get it now and maybe sell it on ebay once it all sold out? hehe I hope I can save enough money and get myself this beauty before Christmas!  I'm flying out on December 15 and I would love to bring this with me on my trip along with the first Naked.

The day after Thanksgiving weekend.

I hope you all had a good Thanksgiving day, Thanksgiving dinner, Black Friday & Cyber Monday shopping and if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you had a good weekend. As for me, I sure did.  Thanksgiving to me is all about family time. This year, we all gathered at my brother's house for a small dinner consist of typical Asian BBQ food, chit-chat, and gamble.  After dinner, we all went home to rest before making some damages to our credit cards.

If you are not familiar with Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Black Friday is the day that marks the Holiday shopping. It is the Friday after Thanksgiving day.  A lot of stores (retail and even small business) are on sale.  Black Friday sale mostly is for electronics, however it is still good for clothes and cosmetics. I love Cyber Monday more because Cyber Monday to me is more for women. Cyber Monday typically mean the Monday after Thanksgiving day. A lot more clothes, accessories, and cosmetics are on sale during Cyber Monday.  I usually take advantage of these two sales to shop for gifts, things I need for next year and things that I wouldn't normally buy.

I did not stay up, camp out or go crazy like other people. I just went to my local mall for some deals. I heard there were pepper sprayed, people stepped on other people, people were stealing other people's items on their carts... etc. It was horrible.

The mall was packed by the time I got there (which was 8 am).  I stopped by Express because they had 40% off everything, including sale! I went crazy and bought a lot of stuff, well more than usual. Most were gifts to my family and boyfriend though. After Express, we went to Guess store because I love Guess. I love their style, their shoes and dresses. They also had very good deal like 30% off regular priced items or 40% sale items. It was not bad but the store was packed with Asians! I felt so claustrophobic so I left early. I didn't get too much, just couple items for my Asia Trip this December. I also went to Bath and Body works, Zara, H&M. For Cyber Monday, I just did some online shopping. I order couple items from Forever 21 and Milani Cosmetics. I will show you guys what I hauled from my Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping once I receive all the items. I'm still waiting for some of the orders.

Milani Cosmetics probably is one of the steals I caught this year. They were having 50% off everything AND FREE SHIPPING! I was awesome. I mentioned the deal in my previous blog. I normally post up pictures, deals, coupons that I believe are super save on my blog as soon as I hear about it.  Be sure to follow my blog if you don't want to miss deals like this.

Come back next time for my Black Friday and Cyber Monday haul. :)

New Update! 11/22/11

Hi there,

Long time!!!! Sorry I have been MIA for the longest time. I was super busy with school and work. I wanted to finish with all my school work by the end of November and my work projects by before the last day of my job. I decided to quit my job because my boyfriend and I planned to take our first Asia Trip this December.  We will be traveling to Hawaii first and then head to our first destination of our Asia Trip.

Our first stop would be Taipei, Taiwan. I cannot wait to go back to Taiwan. I was there for about 10 months on a study abroad scholarship and Taiwan definitely touched my heart!

The next stop would be our home country, Vietnam. I hope we could stay a bit longer but because of our budget, we can only stay there for two weeks. :(  After Vietnam, we will be going to Beijing, China. I literally super excited for China. I have never been to China and ever since I was young, I fancy about going to China to see the Great Wall. And now, it's like a dream come true! LOL

Hong Kong is our last destination for our first Asia Trip. I have been to Hong Kong couple times and IT IS the one of the countries that one must visit. There are so many amazing things in Hong Kong that Westerners, like myself will never experience (if you haven't been out of the country, that is). Hong Kong is pretty much like Singapore (that's what I heard) but not as clean. However it has the uniqueness such as the Avenue of Stars, Symptom of Lights, Giant Buddha, etc. that no other country has. I can't wait to take my boyfriend around Hong Kong. He speaks Cantonese, so perhaps he will be the one who takes me around. LOL

I will be sure to update with you guys with pictures and details once the date of my trip is coming.

<3 until then.

June Haul: Costco and Walmart Haul

Hi beauties,

I went to Costco and Walmart the other day to get some supplies for my boyfriend's trip and my cosmetic needs. Here are the things I got.
I got the OFF! insect repellent for my boyfriend. He'll be on Utah hiking trip with his friends for 5 days. I'm sure there will be bugs and insects around him and I don't want him to come back with tons of bug bites on his body. lol.

I headed to Walmart after Costco because I was running out of makeup wipes and I remember Walmart has this awesome makeup wipes that comparable to Loreal (? or was it Olay?) but for fraction of the price! It comes with 2 packs and each pack has 120 wipes for $6 dollars! I've been using it and it's pretty good so far.
I also heard about this Kirkland makeup wipes that Costco carry but I haven't use it so I didn't want to risk it. And the Equate makeup from Walmart is a bit cheaper. hehe

During April and May, I have very strong allergies and it causes my nose to dry. In addition to that, the weather is so dry lately and it damaged my skin even more. I decided to pick up Cetaphil daily moisturizer. I heard many good review about this. I also remember seeing on a magazine that some celebrity was carrying this in her bag... I forgot who it was... Anyway, I started using it for a week and I did see dramatic change on my face! It has SPF 15, so it was a good double deal for me. I apply it before I put on my foundation and keep reapply the Cetaphil every 30 mins or so throughout the day. (That's how dry my skin is!) After a week, my skin is so much smoother, even smoother than my skin before it was dry! I love it soo much! I'm sure I'll be buying some more for back up. :D

I was so sure I did not have anymore Q-Tip at home, so I picked up the Equate, comparable to Q-Tip for half the price! I went home, open the package out and divided it into three because I share it with my brother and my cousin at home... and I found out that I just bought a pack of Q-Tip couple weeks ago. :( YAY for my great memory! But then now I know I wont be  purchasing Q-tip any time soon!

One of my favorite to go foundation is Maybelline dream smooth mousse. I picked up one at Walmart as well. Without checking for the unopened package or if it was the last one.. I went ahead and buy it...

I went home and I found this!!!

OH-EM-GEE! Someone had open it and used it in the store!!! I was pissed, disgusted and sooo mad at whoever did it and also at Walmart! Who the heck test out an item like that and put it back. It was not even at its original location! I mean the sponge is in the bottom of the damn foundation! HELLO?? ARgHH
I got so mad, I went back to Walmart before work right the next day. They gave me a look like "Who bitch you did this and you want to return it?" I gave her a look back that should say "Your lazy ass so lazy to get it restock and check your damn shelves and now I want my refund or exchange!" I didn't technically say it but I was super mad. I told the cashier the whole story and said I just wanted to exchange. She said this was the last one and asked me if I wanted to get it in another color... HELLO?? Don't you know that you have to use foundation that matches your skin? ARgH stupid conversation that lasted for 15 minutes! I have this love and hate relationship with Walmart. I love their cheap prices but I hate the irresponsible shoppers! Or maybe the lazy workers. Argh. Don't get me wrong, not all Walmart is like that but I'm sure the Walmart near my house is just like that. >:(
I then went to the cosmetic section and got the powder one instead. I remember MissGlamorazzi really liked this powder. So I picked it up for an exchange. I like it so far. I'll be sure to do a review about it for you guys.

That's it for now. Check back for more review, hauls and saving tips!

May Haul (my first haul post)

Hi beauties,

I had a chance to visit the old town Santa Barbara, CA with my boyfriend during May for our 2nd year anniversary. It was a relaxing small get away from the busy city. While relaxing myself there, I managed to grab some goodies before and on the trip.

Click on the pictures for bigger size.

And now the break down:

I think this is one of the best things I bought so far this year. I saw Michelle Phan, the famous makeup guru from Youtube, wore one of these in her video. I was jaw dropping, drool over that cool looking ring (or finger wrapper?). I wanted one of these.

I found this baby at a store called "The closet" in old town Santa Barbara. If you don't know what The Closet is all about, it's basically a second hand store. They buy back brand names or good used items and resell with a cheaper price for us second hand deal grabbers. I got this baby for $9.00 plus tax. It was a steal!
Did I say I love this?? well I will say it again! I LOVEE LOVEE IT!

I bought these ELF palettes from Target for $5 each to try out and perhaps I can make a "weekly" look post using these cheap palettes. They are pretty good so far. I'm liking it! For $5.00 with all those colors!? YES PLEASE!

Left: NYC in 309B sheer red at Target on sale for $0.86
Middle: NYX lip smacking in summer love at Fashion District for $1.50
Right: Stila lip & cheek stain in Acai Crush at Nordstrom Rack for $5.00

I really like NYC lipstick. The color is nice, stays about an hour or two and the price is definitely a keeper.  I'm not too fond of the NYX lipstick. It washed away my lips and makes my face very pale. Maybe I could find a good coral lip gloss to top over it.
I seriously scare of using the Stila Lip & Cheeks stain because it's really red and it doesn't come off! It stayed on my lips for days! I swear. It just did not come off! I also tried it on my cheeks and Oh-Em-Gee, I have blush-y red cheeks for about 24 hours+. I will sure do a review and swatches on it if you guys want me to.

Boyfriend bought me this awesome shirt!!! It was only for $15.00. The brand is Romeo and Juliet Couture. It's a pretty long short, or maybe it's long for me because I'm only 5' tall. I wear this shirt with a skinny jeans and thin belt to define my curve and end it with a black pump. I may would add a long necklace with it too. The best thing about this shirt is its shoulder. Check this out.

The shoulder is padded with this awesome silver looking things that make a simple (cheap) shirt into a very fashionable shirt! I usually wear shirts in XS or S but I got this in Medium because I want to wear it as an off-shoulder shirt for summer. It's a nice dress up shirt or casual shirt.

I also went to Walmart and got some goodies. I have to be honest with you that I have a love and hate relationship with Walmart. Their prices are good but some things there are just too shady! I will go into details when I get a chance to do the Walmart haul for you guys.

Thank you for reading! Remember, when my blog hit 50 readers, I have another giveaway for you guys. :D Come back and check often!

Skin Care: Oatmeal Face Cleanser

As promised, I'll have a small giveaway very soon (next week), so please check back soon!

Today I want to share with you this recipe that I found on google a long time ago. It works like a charm for my skin for couple years now. It is an oatmeal face mask. Oatmeal is not only for your body and sooo good for a breakfast meal. It is also good for your skin if you put it directly on it.

Picture from google

What you need:
3 tablespoons of oatmeal
2 tablespoons of witch hazel
and a few drops of water

What you do:
You want to depend the oatmeal first and add the witch hazel: Add the water to make it moist.
Apply to your face with an upward and outward circular motion. (This also help with your wrinkles)
Rise with lots of warm water.

This recipe is good for all kinds of skin.  If you have dry skin add a little extra virgin olive oil.

I can only give credit to for this recipe... cause I really don't remember who created this face mask. >__<

<3 Until then. Check back for a sigma makeup brush giveaway!

Review: ELF Candid Coral Blush Dupe for NARS Orgasm Blush.

Hi gals,

This is another review this week for one of my favorite blush, Elf Studio Blush in Candid Coral. I have heard many good reviews on this awesome and cheap blush, also nearly compare to our famous NARS blush in Orgasm. I do not own a NARS Orgasm because it's sooo expensive for a blush. After found out about this ELF Studio Blush line. I went to my local Target and hunt down all the blushes I can get.

I finally found the awesome Candid Coral. Check it out yourself and tell me if you think they are dupe or not.

Picture is not mine. Credit to NARS blush in Orgasm.

My ELF blushes in (Left to right, top to bottom): Fushia Fusion, Tickled Pink and Candid Coral. Sorry I don't have a close up picture. I'll take one when I get home from work tonight. :D

In my opinion, NARS Orgasm is a bit darker and more shimmer than ELF Candid Coral. I think if you add a bit hint of ELF Tickled Pink blush and Candid Coral, it will look 99% dupe to NARS Orgasm. However, they are very alike on their own. I will soon do a review on all my ELF Studio Blushes in another post. I love ELF blushes. They are cheap ($3 at your local Target and online) compare to NARS (sephora: $27). It is 9 times cheaper than NARS and they last as long too. If you are on a beauty budget like me, I highly highly suggest to buy ELF Studio Blushes before buying NARS Orgasm because not everyone likes NARS Orgasm.

Comment below and tell me what you think. I'm planning to buy the duo bronze set from ELF. I heard it's a dupe for NARS Highlighting/Bronzing Blush Duo in Orgasm/ Laguna.

<3 Until Then.
